Evening 1: Bordeaux

After I'd finished the blog last night we decided to go out and explore a bit more of Bordeaux. Our first stop was the cathedral; we'd got off the airport tram near here earlier, but somehow failed to notice it.

It's a huge cathedral and it looked really beautiful in the evening light.

There's a large tower next to the cathedral with a gilded statue on the top too.

From the cathedral we walked back towards the arch which we'd visited at lunchtime.

It was after 9pm by this point and just starting to get dark.

This belltower, the Grosse Cloche, looked really beautiful lit up at night.

The whole street it was set in was really picturesque.

We passed another archway...

...then came to the large bridge we'd admired earlier in the day.

Looking back towards the arch, we realised it was illuminated in the colours of the French flag :)

The bridge itself looked really stunning lit up at night.

It was getting darker now and we could start to see the moon.

Walking along by the river at night was really lovely.

Even the street lights here were pretty!

And the ferris wheel was really cool to see too.

Eventually we turned away from the river and began looping back towards our hotel.

I ended the day on 24,000 steps so it was definitely an active one! Bordeaux is a large city but definitely worth exploring :)
