Night 2: Brussels

Our strenuous morning meant that we spent the afternoon in our apartment. This was handy, since it means we would be fully refreshed after nightfall, ready for another excursion, this time under illumination.

Pretty much as soon as we walked out the door we came face to face with what appeared to be giant marshmallows on sticks:

And a snow-capped village scene on top of one of the stalls:

We then headed in the direction of the Bourse, which changed colour beautifully every few minutes:

Retreading our steps from this morning we walked toward the Grande Place, the first building of which looked as thought it had been transplanted from Transylvania:

The Christmas Tree and Town Hall looked stunning together:

As did the other buildings that stand behind it:

From a distance it became clear just how high the Town Hall is:

We went as far as the cathedral before calling it a day and going back to the apartment:
